Decoding LEGO!

LEGO used to come in all colors and sizes without any instructions, so children went with their own imagination and creativity on building something.

But in this format LEGO did not sell well, so LEGO changed their strategy and came up with the instruction booklet with precooked model images and parents bought it like crazy.

Here, the end result looks impressive, but children completely stop thinking and start following.
The LEGO example is a wonderful illustration for what is now going on in our educational system.
Lesson plans and curriculums are designed by teachers and administrators, while learners just follow directions and formulas.
We restrict children's autonomy and imagination when we over-instruct and detail each stage of the learning process. Most significantly, we leave kids unprepared for life in the real world.
At Club1729 we embrace uncertainty and chaos. We expose children to complexity and allow them to solve problems on their own so that they may learn to think for themselves, and we never tell them what the end result will look like.
After all, life does not come with a user manual. It's chaotic and unexpected, so take away the instruction manual and give space for creativity.
